We will be meeting weekly for 9 consecutive weeks online, every Sunday from 12pm-2pm EST via Zoom. A recording will be provided for those who cannot attend live and for those who would like to review in general. These groups are interactive, so it would be of greater benefit for you, and for the group as a whole, to attend live if you can. We’ll be covering the following topics:
Week One Focus (1/28):
Creating an altar to ground the creative process, working with alliances from the natural world who are inherently innovative, and discussing the significance of the Circle.
Process: altar building and guided meditation
Creative experiment: something #hand-made while you listen to #music
Week Two Focus (2/4):
Claiming your right to be creative: consciously exchanging with creative energy.
Process: group discussion and breathwork
Creative experiment: make a #visual representation of how you perceive the flow of Universal Energy. This can also be expressed as #movement.
Week Three Focus (2/11):
Making peace with your inner critic.
Process: group discussion and breathwork
Creative experiment: do some #writing about where you are feeling limited, and how creative expression can help “out-create” your pain.
Week Four Focus (2/18):
Creating with and for your ancestors.
Process: group discussion, breathwork, and cooking assignment/sharing
Creative experiment: setup a small altar in your kitchen & make any #food-beverage that reminds you of a happy childhood moment. Preferably cook with ingredients that connect you to your cultural roots. Create a playlist and listen to #music that either connects you to your culture, or nostalgic happy moments from your younger years. With every stir of the pot, think of your grandparents and those that came before you. Cook and/or share the meal with family/friends, if possible. Extra challenge: try a dish you’ve never cooked before, but have always wanted to try and make!
Week Five Focus (2/25):
Creating with Grandmother Moon.
Process: full moon meditation, breathwork, and hand-made assignment/sharing
Creative experiment: something #hand-made or #visual while you listen to #music
Week Six Focus (3/3):
Creative Commitments: healing & Purpose.
Process: group discussion and breathwork
Creative experiment: #writing exercise - prompt will be given to you in class.
Week Seven Focus (3/10):
Creating with Earth Mother.
Process: group discussion, guided meditation, and nature/spirit walk assignment
Creative experiment: freestyle
Week Eight Focus (3/17):
Creating with Father Sun.
Process: group discussion, guided meditation, and photography with all 4 cycles of sun (sunrise, high noon, sunset, and midnight).
Creative experiment: #visual photography with all 4 major cycles of the sun (sunrise, high noon, sunset, and midnight).
Week Nine Focus (3/24):
Gratitude & creating with the Rainbow.
Process: full moon meditation and breathwork. Creative Circle completion.
Creative experiment: freestyle
The idea is to keep sharing our process - nothing has to be finished, polished, or perfect.
Everytime we share, we send a pulse of creative energy around the circle, and the goal is to keep the energy moving & building!
Welcome to the Creative Circle!
